Inspire the next generation

If you’re considering a teaching career, Staffordshire University is an excellent place to start your journey. We’ve been training teachers for over 20 years, and you can find Staffs graduates teaching in schools and colleges across Staffordshire and beyond.

With 8 secondary PGCEs and 2 primary PGCEs available for 2022, we have something to suit everyone. So whether you’re mad about maths or pumped about PE, we’ve got the PGCE for you.

The 4 Cs of Teacher Training

At Staffordshire University we want to create teachers that love what they do and want to make a difference in their careers. That’s why our focus is on creating teachers that are:

  • Passionate and resilient with a love for learning and the connected curriculum
  • Critically reflective, curious and daring.
  • Confident researchers that use their findings to inform their practice and the practice of others.
  • Community centred, informed practitioners who take responsibility for the importance of community, centred within their role in the classroom and through their impact on children’s lives.

The PGCE team are friendly, supporting, and at the forefront of educational research. The course has been developed to have our wellbeing at heart to ensure we can be the most effective practitioners.

Billy Goldstraw, Secondary Biology PGCE

My favorite thing about studying my PGCE with Staffs is the amount of time you spend in the school as opposed to uni days. You just really do spend the time as a teacher.
