Dr Abdul Waheed Awan

Senior Lecturer

Digital, Tech, Innovation & Business

Currently I am Senior Lecturer in Mechanical & Automotive Engineering and Award Leader for MSc Automotive Engineering within School of Creative Arts and Engineering. I have been Couse Leader for BEng (Hons) with a Foundation Year along with teaching and module management for range of modules within Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at both UG and PG level since I joined Staffordshire University in 2015.

I worked at the University of Birmingham for almost two years as Research Fellow (Post-doc) for Innovate UK’s Low Rolling Resistance Tyre Project (£1M) as lead researcher from UoB. Before joining UoB, I was visiting Researcher at SKF Engineering and Research Centre, Holland, during my fully funded PhD studies at Bournemouth University, UK, and conducted research on Innovative Hybrid Bearing project for special and severe operating conditions. Before joining Bournemouth University in January 2011, I also worked at the Centre for Fluid and Structure Mechanics in Pakistan for 4 years (2007-2011) as Manager (Technical) where I was leading and researching in the area of CFD and Structural Analysis projects.

I have been a winner of the prestigious BU PhD Scholarship Award, JNU South Korea PhD Scholarship, Fully Funded Master Studies Scholarship at GIKI and UG Engineering Merit Scholarship at UET Peshawar. I have also been awarded generous funding and bursaries to travel USA, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Holland and Austria for Conferences and Technical Courses.
