I teach across a range of core and specialist subjects, including Tort Law, Criminal Law, and Crime in Context. My academic work ensures that my teaching is grounded in current legal scholarship and contemporary legal debates, supporting students to develop both doctrinal understanding and critical analysis.
I am currently a PhD researcher, undertaking doctoral research focused on crimes of the powerful, and this research closely informs and strengthens my teaching. Prior to and alongside my academic career, I was actively involved in primary education governance, serving as both a Governor and Chair of Governors, experience which has informed my leadership and strategic perspective.
I have a long standing interest in politics and its intrinsic link with the legal sphere. I gained early experience in political organisation and campaign management, engaging with political actors at both national and local levels. I also served as a company director for over 20 years, providing further business and governance experience.
The aforementioned experiences underpin my teaching and research, giving me a practical understanding of how law functions within organisational, political, and societal contexts.
Outside academia, I have four children and live on a small holding, balancing professional work with rural life.
