Jennifer Humphrey

Lecturer

School of Health, Science and Wellbeing

With a career in healthcare spanning since 2007, I bring a wealth of clinical experience across emergency medicine, minor injuries, mental health, learning disabilities, and health assessment. My primary area of expertise lies in Accident and Emergency (A&E), where I continue to practise alongside my academic role.

Since 2020, I have worked as a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, delivering education to both pre-registration and post-registration healthcare professionals. Now a Senior Lecturer, my primary focus is on post-registration education, where I serve as Module Lead for Principles of Physical Assessment, delivered alongside Advanced Health Assessment (AHA). I have a particular passion for simulation-based education and clinical skills teaching. Research continues to highlight the benefits of simulation in fostering safe, effective practice within a controlled environment, and I am committed to creating psychologically safe learning spaces that support professional growth and confidence.

Outside of my professional commitments, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, as well as exploring my interest in computing.
