I currently lecture within the Institute of Policing, working with Police students within the PEQF framework with regional forces. I have also recently joined (on a part time basis) the Policing and Criminal Investigation team which is a small team that teach the Professional Policing and Policing and Criminal Investigation BSc Hons undergraduate degrees. I have recently completed my PGCert (with distinction) and am a member of the FHEA. I am module lead for my specialist areas teach on a wide range of modules within these programmes.

Retiring as the ‘Head of Child Abuse Investigations’ for West Midlands Police as a highly motivated senior detective with 30 years experience in Policing. I have since commenced a new career as lecturer at University of Staffordshire which I have been part of since 2023.

As a Police officer I have a wealth of experience at a senior officer level that comprises local policing partnership initiatives, critical incident command in firearms and terrorist related activities. Policy development and child abuse investigations lead for the second largest UK Police force.

As a Detective Superintendent in Public Protection for West Midlands Police. Leading all child abuse investigations in the region but also hold to account senior partners to ensure service delivery for our most vulnerable victims is at the highest levels for the West Midlands region, including leading our response during Covid pandemic with key partners.
