Masterclass

Outline

This session is adapted to meet the ages and requirements of classes. The session will require the use of teamwork, collaboration, problem solving and creativity. Discussion will draw out contemporary issues such as outdoor learning, the natural world and recycling. There will also be a careers discussion included.

Example programme

12-12.30 Welcome and Overview of Activity

12.30-13.30 Masterclass Mini Lecture/Interactive workshop

Participants will then be introduced to ‘Monty.’ Students will be given a brief and will be asked in small groups to design and construct a home using found recyclable or natural materials.

They will then discuss their construction with the group and think about what skills they have used and which of their curriculum subjects they think they have covered.

13.30-14.00

Plenary and a chance for an informal chat to ask any questions.

Where possible this activity will take place in our on-site Nature Reserve.
