Job Title and Responsibilities

Lecturer and course leader for all accounting awards.  My focus is on ensuring all students have a great experience and achieve the best results they can.
I am also a personal tutor to the accelerated degree students and 3 year degree accounting students.

About Me

I have been an accounting lecturer for the past 7 years. Prior to lecturing I mostly worked for retail businesses, from high growth start-ups to mature multi-billion pound turnover international organisations, throughout the UK. My earlier years were in small retail companies predominantly within the music industry. I then enjoyed a long career in management within Tesco’s. I have also worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland within the derivatives and structured notes area.

Research Interests

Within the field of accounting I am currently researching fraud risk management and forensic accounting. I am also interested in innovation and technology within education particularly around engagement. Recently I have been looking into Virtual and Augmented Reality (AR & VR) to enhance teaching and learning. I continue to maintain an interest in behavioural finance and student mindset.

Current Teaching

I am module leader for Professional Toolkit, Professional Development, Management Accounting, Fraud Risk Management Computerised Accounting and Financial Research.
I teach on the Accounting and Finance 2 year accelerated, 3 year and Foundation courses as well as Core modules on the Business, Events and marketing awards.
