Ian Jenkinson

Ian is a chartered engineer specialising in municipal engineering. He has worked at every level of local government from trainee technician to Chief Executive.

In North Staffordshire Ian has worked upon many regeneration programmes. He was a Board member of a Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder, the Children’s Safeguarding Board, Chair of a Crime and Disorder Partnership, an Associate Board Member of the Stoke and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Chair of the Staffordshire Local Pensions Board.

Ian retired from full-time employment to become a Professional Reviewer for the Institution of Civil Engineers, editor of ‘Municipal Engineer’ and a member of the ‘Expert Panel’ for sustainability and urban engineering where he contributed to several ‘State of the Nation Report’ on essential infrastructure. He also reviewed entries for the CMI ‘Management Book of the Year’ competition.

Ian currently assesses engineers for their final professional qualification with ICE and IMechE. He is a member of, and Treasurer for, the ICE West Midlands Regional Executive Board. In his spare time, he sails, cycles and walks.
