Facilities and expertise in Education, Children and Teaching

Undergraduate

As an Education student at Staffordshire University you’ll have access to a range of high-quality placements across early years settings, schools and other learning environments. You’ll have the chance to establish lifelong networks and be supported by employers within the industry.

We work with 50+ high performing early years settings and schools with the local area and in Birmingham, the Black Country, Shropshire, Manchester, Derbyshire and beyond, to give you real world experience and enable you to make informed decisions about your career direction.

And not all our teaching takes place in the classroom! Our students take part in outdoor learning in environments such as our on-campus nature reserve and Forest School. Delivered by a Forest School practitioner, the adventure sessions focus on hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

I also enjoyed the creative element of my course. We learnt about forest schools and local parks, and we did a full activity day in the nature reserve where we did a range of activities such as building rafts with an expert.

The tutor was absolutely fantastic

The tutor was absolutely fantastic and supportive – and I think what worked really well is me studying around full-time work. I had a Tuesday evening study so it worked really nicely around my Teaching Assistant role that I was doing at the time.

It was difficult, but the support that I had off our lecturer was fantastic. They’d worked in education for a number of years so they understood how it worked.
