Product, Furniture, Ceramics highlights - Semester 1

Graduate from 2025, Grace Mansell, was awarded the winner of the Furniture Makers’ Leather Prize back in London, October 2025.

Judges were impressed with her 'Stitch' furniture collection with a emphasis on sustainability.  Grace exhibited part of this collection at our 2025 Degree Show.

In December two of our third- year students (Shamikha Malik and Joanne Hopwood) have generously received a £1k each bursary prize from RHWT as part of the Saddleworth Museum & Gallery, Oldham for their fabulous work in ceramics. 

Level 5 students have undertaken a Live Client project with John Lewis Partners and their furniture/ home department. 

Level 6 students have undertaken a live client project with leading global brand Vitra. Students were invited down to Vitra’s flagship showroom, London in October for a brand emersion and project launch, whereas their MD travelled up to our studios in Stoke in December for the students to pitch their designs and final pieces to him. The project focused on circular design and sustainability.
