University’s Horizon Fund joins forces with North Staffs Mind

This Mental Health Awareness Week, Staffordshire University’s Horizon Fund and North Staffs Mind are working together to support communities.

We aim to raise £10,000 for North Staffs Mind and the Horizon Fund, supporting both charities during 2020 and 2021. We are living through unprecedented times and, although the challenges we face can sometimes feel overwhelming, we can help overcome any obstacle if we support each other.

Professor Liz Barnes CBE, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive

Staffordshire University’s Horizon Fund has teamed up with North Staffs Mind to promote and protect mental health, wellbeing and achievement among  students and across local communities.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and, in the face of the many challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, your support is more important than ever before.

COVID-19 presents a clear risk to our physical health, but it’s also having a negative impact on mental health . Together, North Staffs Mind and the Horizon Fund can offer targeted support to those who need it most, empowering people to achieve their goals and change their lives for the better.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes CBE, said: "We aim to raise £10,000 for North Staffs Mind and the Horizon Fund, supporting both charities during 2020 and 2021.We are living through unprecedented times and, although the challenges we face can sometimes feel overwhelming, we can help overcome any obstacle if we support each other."

We’re already planning a jam-packed calendar of joint fundraising activities, but are always open to new ideas. If you’d like to get involved, please email developmentoffice@staffs.ac.uk. If you’d like to donate to our joint charities initiative, please visit staffs.ac.uk/donate.
