Doug looks forward to welcoming you to Music Production at University of Staffordshire

Doug has been teaching Music Production for 19 years and has a strong interest in course design and providing excellent student support.  His personal music and sound practice ranges from live electronic and experimental performance through to documentary field recordings aiming to preserve endangered soundscapes for future generations.  He looks forward to welcoming a new cohort of students every year and is energised by the challenges and ideas which they bring to the course.

We wanted to share some of the fantastic projects that our Music and Sound students have been working on, so you have a flavour of the experiences you could be having when you join our Music and Sound community.

From our students being immersed in an electrifying mix of guest lectures, masterclasses, field trips, and hands-on workshops spanning everything from hip hop beat-making and horror Foley, to mastering video game sound design and professional music production.  These experiences are building killer portfolios and giving students the real-world skills and industry insight they need to launch thriving creative careers.

Dave is an audio-visual artist who holds a PhD in composition. His primary research focus is Electronic Visual Music and he teaches composition, audio-visuals and mastering at undergraduate and post-graduate levels

Marc is the Course Leader for MA Music Production and teaches computer sound, advanced Pro Tools techniques, modern composition and music software design.

Alex is a lecturer for Music & Sound degrees. He teaches various aspects of music production including recording studio fundamentals, advanced recording techniques, mixing, mastering, sampling & synthesis and audio for multimedia post-production
