Learning Disability Nurse Lecturer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I am a Lecturer within the Mental Health Nursing Team (based at Black health Lane Stafford). I currently work part time (three days a week). I qualified back in 2016 as Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD).

I have supported many people with both a Learning Disability and a Mental Health conditions. My carer mainly has been within the NHS setting; however I have also worked for Bupa Health Care. I have had the opportunity to support people with Complex Physical and Mental health condition many of which have Dementia and/or have challenging behaviour.

For the majority of my carer I have worked in the Community Nurse setting supporting those with Complex Physical Needs. e.g. Tracheostomy’s, long term ventilation, NG/Peg feeds, Epilepsy and seizure management.
