Richard is a graphic designer and multi-award winning Digital Creative Director with a specialisation in new media. His main area of interest is the application of augmented reality across all aspects of visual communication. He has a proven track record for team leadership and creative resource management. He is an industry commentator on all matters relating to new media, design and advertising, has an extensive portfolio of national and international clients and an in depth awareness of current trends in interactive media.
Having worked in the design industry for over 30 years, Richard has amassed a wealth of experience in the areas of corporate branding, digital design, online marketing, visual communication, production and development of cutting-edge new media and advertising content for clients including Getty Images, Microsoft, Mars Confectionery, P&O, EMI, Virgin Records, Letraset, Adobe, Coca-Cola, British Film Institute, Mitsubishi Motors, and Aardman Animation.
Graduating with a degree in Visual Communications, he started his career as a Graphic Designer at Sutherland Hawes before eventually joining Pentagram Design – where he continued to apply his talent to all aspects of corporate identity and design-for-print for the likes of IBM, London Transport and Gallahar Tobacco.
Eventually, client demands lead to the launch of Mellor Design - catering for the needs of P&O Developments, EMI, Virgin Records, Finnish Institute, British Film Institute, Allen & Overy, Letraset, Artemide Lighting, and the NMB Postbank Group. The additional launch of an Interactive department drew Richard more towards the evangelistic learning ground of Multimedia. Increasing client demands for ‘rich media’ solutions, led Richard to broaden his expertise to include animation, sound design, interactivity, and cutting-edge hypermedia technologies.
Hyperinteractive was launched to accommodate interactive and emerging technology projects for an what has become an envious array of national and international blue-chip clients.
