Ross Wilson

Lecturer

School of Digital, Technologies and Arts

Ross is a broadcast engineer and lecturer at Staffs. His primary backgrounds are in networking, lighting and sound work, which he has been doing both for events and industry for the last 10 years.

I’m a Lecturer and Technician, with a background in computer networking and light and sound operations.

I started working on light and sound when I was 12 helping out with a family run disco company. I slowly developed an interest in them and progressed from support when needed, to performing lighting design and audio mixing on my own. Since then, I have helped semi-pro drama productions in my local town and provided wedding receptions.

My networking experience comes from an apprenticeship which included qualifications in both Cisco and Microsoft. I then took my networking and IT experience and began working on large screen displays utilising NDI to connect panels and map images to the screens. After supplying panels for ESL I developed an interest in esports that led me to the university.
