Attractions and events

Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure, want to discover the past or plan a great night out, there’s so much choice in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent for all interests.

Stoke-on-Trent

Culture past and present

When it comes to culture, Stoke-on-Trent is up there with the best. It’s a place steeped in history and we’ve recently seen a cultural resurgence in everything that made it great. The city is bursting with cultural events throughout the year with street art, drama, exhibitions and festivals. You’ll be blown away by the big touring productions at the Regent Theatre

The pottery industry has put the city on the global stage. The Gladstone Pottery Museum and The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery showcase local heritage to the lively artistic scene today.

Our pottery museums and ceramic festivals are world renowned. Famous names such as Wedgwood, Spode and  Emma Bridgewater now open their doors so you can see the art of the potter close-up or even throw a pot.

Out for the evening

With over 200 places to eat across the region, there’s something to suit every taste and pocket. If you want to dance the night away, we know how to party. With exciting new bars as well as established venues such as The Underground and the  Sugarmill, you can discover new music talent or just hang-out with mates.

Time-out

For some down-time in the city,  Trentham Gardens offers award-winning gardens for a picnic or walk. You can also get close to nature in the Trentham Monkey Forest

Sporty types can swim, run or play team sports with excellent facilities on hand such as Fenton Manor Sports Centre, Longton Rugby Club, and Northwood Stadium. You can also hit the slopes in Stoke Ski Centre or Flip Out with the largest trampolines in the UK.

If you’re more into retail therapy, you can browse for hours at The Potteries Centre, Trentham Shopping village and Festival Retail Park.

Staffordshire

For bustling high streets, speciality shopping, historic buildings and plenty of eating and drinking options you can visit the county’s historic market towns such as Stafford, Stone and Tamworth.

A short journey will take you to the Staffordshire countryside and the Peak District National Park for walking or cycling. Thrill seekers can get your heart pumping at Alton Towers or dive in at Waterworld.

There's plenty to do in Staffordshire but don't forget that we're in the middle of things here and with a train station on your doorstep, you can explore the rest of the UK too.
