Many of our students say that taking the opportunity to go abroad is the most fun and life-changing experience of their time at university, and there's plenty of places to choose from.

Europe

9 out of 10 European Universities have signed up to the Erasmus scheme. If you go to an EU country the Erasmus+ grant can help with the costs of studying abroad. It won’t cost you anything to submit an application to the Erasmus+ scheme or affect any Tuition Fee or Maintenance loans you've applied for. If you participate in the Erasmus+ scheme you could receive additional funding of:

  • Up to 470 euros per month for higher cost of living countries OR
  • Up to 370 euros per month for lower cost of living countries

If you’re thinking of studying abroad you can check out our current EU university partnerships here.

Details on additional support offered by Student Finance to help with your travel costs can be found on their website here.

If you want to work in Europe over the summer you can take this opportunity to apply for additional funding through the Erasmus+ programme.

Eligibility

  • You must have completed level 4 and be registered on a full-time course.
  • Any work experience must be a minimum of 2 months in duration.
  • Funding can be applied to paid or voluntary work in Europe.
  • This funding cannot be used alongside any other EU funding.
  • Previous participation in Erasmus funded work or study will be taken into account, as you can only claim up to a maximum of 12 months Erasmus+ funding per study cycle.
  • European students can apply for funding to work within their country of origin

International

You’re not restricted to studying in Europe. We have institutional links with:

  • Vietnam
  • China
  • Malaysia
  • Sri Lanka
  • Oman
  • Hong Kong
