Stafford Campus Travel Bursary

Terms and Conditions

To be eligible for our travel bursary, you must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Enrolled on to a programme from September 2026 that is taught at our Stafford Campus; AND
  2. Living in the University Student Village at our Stoke Campus; AND
  3. Engaging with your studies in line with the Student Engagement Policy for your programme.

How do I apply? 

  • You do not need to apply. Allocation of the bursary will be automatic following you moving into the accommodation , signing your accommodation licence and completing your University enrolment.

How will I receive the funding?

  • Payment will be made in sterling via direct transfer into your bank account, details of which will be collected as part of our enrolment processes. This must be a UK bank account.
  • You will receive the bursary in three (3) instalments at the beginning of each term of the Academic Year.
  • The travel bursary for Academic Year £1,000, so your instalments will be:
  • £350 during September
  • £325 during January
  • £325 during April

Additional conditions 

  • If you transfer to a programme that is not based at the Stafford campus, or elsewhere, you will not receive any further payments after the date of transfer.
  • You should be aware that if you withdraw or are withdrawn by the University from study, this will result in the cancellation of any further eligibility for this bursary, and no further payments will be made to you.
  • If you are suspended from study, this may affect your entitlement to further payments. The University will consider all the circumstances, including the reasons for the suspension and an assessment of whether and when you are likely to return to your studies.
  • You must be actively enrolled and engaged in your studies to receive each payment.  The University may withhold payments in the event of poor or non-attendance on your course.
  • You must make your own travel arrangements to the Stafford campus using your preferred mode of transport and the University will not be responsible for any disruptions to travel or transport availability.
  • Should you be paid a travel bursary when you are not entitled to it, you will be required to repay this to the University.

Should you have any debts with the University at the time when a payment would otherwise be due to you for the travel bursary, the University reserves the right to set off your debt or part thereof against payments to you in consideration of the travel bursary.

  • The University reserves the rights to amend the terms and conditions of the travel bursary at any time. It will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of such amendment to you.
