At Staffordshire University, we like to give you a big welcome!
There are three main elements to starting a year with us.
This year, we are offering a Flying Start enrolment process for students that want to get ahead of the game - this is optional, and if you don't attend our Flying Start enrolment there will be other opportunities (as listed below).
Flying Start (2 - 13 September) is an early enrolment period during the two weeks before Welcome Weekend. It gives you the opportunity to come onto campus to complete face-to-face enrolment at a time which is convenient to you. To make the most of this early enrolment opportunity, you will need to book your slot online. Please note, Flying Start early enrolment is only available to students who are not staying in University-owned accommodation. To sign-up for Flying Start early enrolment, please select your campus of study:
Welcome Weekend (14 - 15 September) is the weekend prior to Welcome Week. Saturday is the chance for students to complete face-to-face enrolment and pick up the keys to their university accommodation, as well as joining in with the welcome activities provided by our Students’ Union. Sunday is the opportunity for students living away from home to get involved with a wide range of social activities, helping them to make friends with their new housemates or likeminded people. How you sign-up for Welcome Weekend will depend on whether you are are living in University-owned accommodation or not:
- If you are staying in University-owned accommodation, you will recieve details on how to sign-up for Welcome Weekend via email by Sunday 8 September

Welcome Week (16 - 20 September) is the first week of the academic year for our new and returning students. It’s packed with activities and is the perfect opportunity to make new lifelong bonds or get together with old friends to gossip about the summer break. You will have an introduction from your school, meet your Students’ Union, get loads of freebies at the commercial fair as well as having a chance to get involved in a wide range of clubs and societies.
