Course outline

We offer a variety of Postgraduate Research Awards PhD and MPhil. PhD and MPhil awards may be studied in full-time or part-time mode in the UK, and we consider applications for part-time studies outside the UK on a case-by-case basis.

Course content

Places on our awards are limited by the number of supervisors undertaking research in the various topics and by the subject areas in our research strategy. For students studying part-time, face-to-face meetings with supervisors and access to study resources are important issues, and will affect acceptance onto our awards. Part-time students are expected to spend an appropriate amount of time within the Faculty each year. A student s individual circumstances will affect his or her access to study materials. While access to the Web is helpful, access to a good research library, for example, is imperative for advanced research work. Local supervision, especially for students outside the UK, is also an important issue.

Entry requirements
