The MSc Customer and Data Analytics is designed to prepare the next generation of Customer Experience and User Experience managers to work in a wide range of industry sectors.

This multidisciplinary masters focuses on the data behind emerging technologies and their impact on the customer journey.  You will learn to use data to make informed decisions which are innovative and collaborative and research, analyse, design and test elaborate customer experience systems before providing solutions to complex problems. 

You will establish yourself as a CX strategist and become an expert market researcher through analysing consumer behaviour for business solutions.

Course content

Throughout your course, you will work on real-time problems in hands-on consulting projects that develop your skills to lead and drive digital change throughout a range of organisations. Problems could include helping businesses to enter new markets, measure performance in existing markets or optimising growth within diverse portfolios. You will be taught by a range of experts from the fields of adaptive leadership, design thinking and human behaviour and take part in exposure workshops designed to immerse you in the latest technology.

You will learn to use software such as NoSQL Datastores, SQL Server Enterprise, MongoDB, CouchDB, Apache Hadoop, R statistical package, IBM SPSS statistics, JetBrains PyCharm (IDE for Python), Visual Studio Professional 2017 (IDE for C#), Microsoft Visio, Java SDK and NetBeans. You will also learn to work in development environments for Fitbit, Alexa and Google home and mobile devices/smartwatches/ smart home devices as well as data visualisation software like Tableau, ggplot2, Seaborn, MatPlotLib, ggvis, and MS Excel.

There are two types of assessments: practice (also called formative) or formal (also called summative). Practice assessments do not count towards your final mark. These are your chance to test your understanding – and learn how to improve for the real thing.
