What inspired you to choose University of Staffordshire to study Animation?

I was drawn to Staffordshire University because of its strong reputation in creative arts and its emphasis on hands-on, industry-focused learning. I have learnt a lot about the media industry too while building up my dream step by step.

How did the university help you settle in as an international student from India?

Transition was smooth, the staff were always ready to help me out wherever needed. From the very beginning, there was strong support which included welcome sessions, guidance on accommodation, visa help, and international student meetups.

What were the facilities like on the Animation course – and how did they help you grow creatively?

The facilities at University of Staffordshire are fantastic. We had access to industry-standard software, high-end workstations, green screen studios, and drawing labs. These resources allowed me to experiment and develop my skills across 2D and 3D animation along with storytelling.

Can you tell us about a standout moment or achievement from your time at University of Staffordshire?

Being a Course Representative for class of 2025, I was able to bring out significant changes within the studios, and course content, which allowed everyone to bring out the best ideas for projects and short films, and get access to several new software’s for testing/working. I was also invited to volunteer at various animation festival’s during my study at University of Staffordshire, which is a must to experience while studying creative courses.

Would you recommend University of Staffordshire to other creative students from India – and why?

Absolutely! University of Staffordshire offers a perfect mix of academic excellence, industry relevance, and personal support. For creative students, especially from India, it’s a welcoming place to grow, network, and truly prepare for a global career in the creative industries. The diverse student body also means you’ll always find a community that feels like home.

What does graduating today mean to you personally?

It’s a proud moment to graduate after years of hard work, dedication, and the fulfilment of a dream I had when I first decided to leave home and pursue a career in animation. It marks a journey of growth, learning, and resilience, and I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, both personally and professionally.

What are your plans now that you’ve graduated?

Now that I’ve graduated, I plan to gain experience in the animation industry here in the UK or in Europe. I’m especially interested in working in a creative studio where I can be part of a team and contribute to storytelling projects. Long term, I have plans to return to finish up 1 more year of Postgraduate study and give a go as a lecturer.

For creative students, especially from India, it’s a welcoming place to grow, network, and truly prepare for a global career in the creative industries.
