Studying Rehabilitation and Manual Therapies

Introducing your course leader - Edward Stanhope

As Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy, I bring extensive experience from both academia and industry. After graduating with First Class Honours from the University of Birmingham, I pursued two master’s degrees - an MA in Higher Education and an MSc in Clinical Trials - developing a strong foundation in both teaching and research.

My areas of expertise include exercise interventions for non-communicable diseases, trial methodology, and evidence synthesis. I lead the research modules across the sports department at the University of Staffordshire. I am also currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Wolverhampton, focusing on the role of exercise in breast cancer care.

I look forward to welcoming you in September.
