Travel Reimbursement Scheme

We know how hard the cost of living crisis has hit our students and applicants. As part of our ongoing efforts to remove barriers to higher education to all learners, we've introduced a travel reimbursement scheme. This means if you are travelling to an Open Day, we’ll pay money towards your travel costs after the event.

Student life

Whether you want to meet new friends, grab a drink, play sport, pick up a new hobby or enjoy live music, our uplifting, inclusive campus community has something to suit all tastes. After exploring our campuses, you can look at the fantastic amenities on offer in the local area.

Quiet Programme

Open days are busy and can be overwhelming for some of our visitors. Therefore, we have a quiet programme at our Stoke-on-Trent open days. This is designed for students who are impacted by sensory overload, such as on the autism spectrum condition, have hearing or visual impairments, and for applicants who may struggle with social and communication or have anxiety.

This means that a lot of the larger talks and information sessions which would be open to mass audiences are being replicated but for smaller cohorts of students. We have a quiet ‘Why Staffs’ session available in the morning alongside quieter campus tours and a finance talk and our Open Day sessions are generally quieter in the afternoon.

The quiet programme is only available at our Stoke-on-Trent campus due to the size of the event and campus.

How to get here

Our campuses are well connected to local, regional and national transport links. All visitors are encouraged to take advantage of public transport to reduce emissions, and congestion on campus.

Stoke-on-Trent campus

The Open Day registration point is in the Catalyst building on our Leek Road site.

If you're travelling by train, you'll need to get off at Stoke-on-Trent railway station and head out of the main doors on platform 1. Cross the road using the pedestrian crossing then turn right, heading past the station car park. The open day registration point is a short walk from here If you need further directions, you can find our student ambassadors at the railway station and on campus. They're easy to spot in their red uniform.

Both our College Road and Leek Road sites have excellent bus links within the city centre and wider area. Open day signage will direct you around the campus and lead you to the registration point.

Our Stoke-on-Trent campus is within easy reach of the M6 motorway, A50 and A34 if you’re travelling by car. To get to the Open Day car parks on Leek Road, use the postcode ST4 2DF. This postcode will take you to our main entrance, where our ambassadors will direct you to the nearest car park. I'm grateful that Staffs Uni has given me all of these opportunities, helping me on my path towards my career.
