Introducing your course leader, Zoe Yeomans

I am Zoe Yeomans, course leader for the Social Work BA degree.

I am a social worker, registered with Social Work England. Since qualifying I have worked within adult learning disabilities teams and on a hospital discharge team before joining the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership as a consultant social worker and ultimately finding my passion for teaching others which led me here.

My passion within practice has always been identifying ways to empower people to be involved in their own assessments and supporting them to make the decisions relevant to their care and support by combining the necessary legislation with creativity and compassion. 

I have additional qualifications as a DeafBlind Assessor and Practice Educator and I am currently completing my MSc in Simulation Based Education.

Here at University of Staffordshire, I thoroughly enjoy working in conjunction with social workers, individuals with lived experience and students to create simulations, utilising our fabulous sim suites, to bring students an opportunity to put the knowledge they gain in lectures in to practice.

I am a qualified social worker and practice educator, with 15 years experience in practice with children and their families in statutory settings. Working with and safeguarding older children, has been a driving factor throughout my career.

Anthony is the course leader for BA(Hons) Social Work. Originally from America he is a social worker and Psychotherapist. As part of his PhD he is researching how social workers use mental health knowledge in practice.
