Hi, I’m Mayowa and I’m the course leader for the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance course. 

With a robust career as a Chartered Accountant in both public and private sectors, I've gained extensive experience in capital and revenue budget management, financial advisory, auditing, forensic investigations, and tax planning. I bring this wealth of knowledge into the classroom, offering you real-world insights and practical applications that will prepare you for a successful career in finance and accounting.

The course is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), providing exemptions from certain professional examinations.

Are there opportunities for work placements or studying abroad?

Yes, you are strongly encouraged to undertake work placements, particularly with accounting firms or in finance roles. There is an option for a full placement year and opportunities to study abroad at partner universities in Vietnam or Sri Lanka.

What modules will I study during the course?

The course includes a range of modules such as Financial Management, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Personal Taxation, Advanced Management Accounting, Fintech and Digitalisation, Corporate Finance, and Auditing and Assurance. In the final year, you will complete an in-depth term paper on a topic of their choice.

Graduates can pursue various careers such as Chartered Accountant, Investment Banker, Fintech Manager, Investment Analyst, Financial Manager, Financial Advisor, Tax Adviser, and Forensic Accountant. The degree also opens up opportunities for postgraduate research.
