Introducing your course leader - Daniel Dawson

Hello. My name is Daniel Dawson and I’ve been teaching on our sport degrees since 2018. After graduating from University of Staffordshire in 2013, I taught physical education in local schools and created a successful CPD program for primary school staff, which is now running in 22 schools.

Alongside my academic role, I’m passionate about football, working with local clubs in coaching and recruitment, particularly within youth development (U12-16). I hold a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, qualified teacher status, and several coaching qualifications.

My research interests include the impact of the School Sports Premium, female participation in PE, and links between GCSE performance and football scholarships.

I look forward to supporting you in your studies and helping you achieve your goals.
