Studying Business Management

Introducing your course leader, Karl McCormack

Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Business Management & Business Management Pathway Courses
Playmobil Certified Facilitator. Champion of Playful Learning. Student Experience Focused.

I’m Karl, and I have the joy of leading the Business Management courses here at University of Staffordshire. My passion is simple: creating learning experiences that are engaging, playful, and powerfully connected to the real world of business.

After more than a decade of teaching, and previous roles in retail and finance, I’ve learned that students thrive when theory feels alive. That’s why my sessions blend practical business insight with interactive, hands-on activities, and playful approaches to problem-solving. As a Playmobil Certified Facilitator, I use creative methods to help students unlock ideas, build confidence and develop skills that stick.

My academic interests span how to create belonging not othering, learning innovation, playful learning techniques and fraud management, but what drives my practice every day is student success. I’m committed to helping every learner discover what they’re capable of, supporting them from their first day on campus through to graduation and beyond.

At Staffordshire Business School, you’ll find an environment where curiosity is encouraged, learning is immersive, and your potential is taken seriously. I’m looking forward to welcoming you to our community and helping you shape the future you want.

Take it from me, it was amazing!
