Introducing your course leader - Donna Graham

I have been teaching at University of Staffordshire since 2019 and I'm also an alumna of the unviersity. I am currently a PhD researcher undertaking doctoral research in Mental Health Law, aligning with and complementing my teaching portfolio.

My professional experience spans healthcare, education, and governance. I worked as a personal assistant to a surgeon, gaining insight into the practicalities and regulation of the healthcare system in England. Within the field of education, I contributed nearly two decades to school governance. During that juncture, I helped shape strategic direction and oversaw the school's improvement from a Satisfactory to Good Ofsted rating. My Masters degree in Education complements this work and informs my approach to teaching.

I gained early experience in political organisation and campaign management, engaging with political actors at both national and local levels.

My teaching and research gives me a practical understanding of how law functions within organisational, political, and societal contexts.

Natasha is a Solicitor & Senior Lecturer and the Course Lead for the LLB (HONS) Law degree. She is the clinic manager for the Legal Advice Service which provides free legal advice to the public in conjunction with our law students.

Dr Spence is an Associate Professor of International Human Rights and Social Justice and Course Director for Law and International Relations programmes. Her focus is on advancing human rights protections for marginalised and vulnerable groups.

Aidan worked in three Law firms, before becoming a lecturer at Staffordshire University in 2016. He is Course Leader for the LLB (Hons) Law (Accelerated) and has expertise in Constitutional, EU and Human Rights Law.

I lead the LLM in International Law. I teach and conduct research in international law, refugee law, human rights, and minority studies. My research addresses the challenges vulnerable groups and refugees face in securing their rights.
