The LLB (Hons) Law 2 Year Accelerated Degree is designed for ambitious students who want to fast track their studies and graduate with a law degree a year earlier than a traditional three-year programme. Only offered as an undergraduate degree by a select number of universities, this accelerated route provides a distinctive opportunity for highly motivated students seeking an intensive, rewarding and career-focused legal education.
The course is particularly attractive to students with prior work experience, career changers and international students who wish to enter the legal profession, postgraduate study or wider graduate employment sooner. Students study the same core foundations of legal knowledge as those on the traditional LLB, while also having opportunities to explore specialist areas of interest through optional modules. Current options include Cyber Law, Healthcare Law, Mooting, and Sports Law.
A distinctive feature of the Accelerated route is the summer teaching period, which allows students to complete the degree over two calendar years. During Semester 3, students take part in an intensive two-week block teaching period in early June, designed to provide focused, engaging and interactive learning. This is followed by a supported blended learning phase, where students develop independence and professional study skills while continuing to access tutor guidance and tailored online resources. Assessments for the summer period take place in mid to late July, allowing students time to consolidate their learning and prepare effectively.
Throughout the course, students benefit from a dynamic learning environment that combines academic rigour with practical legal skills. Teaching is supported through interactive workshops, simulation activities, online learning materials and opportunities to apply legal knowledge to realistic scenarios, helping students build confidence for future legal and professional careers.

Our Law Department offers one of the most exciting and innovative legal advice clinics in the UK (Legal Advice Clinic University of Staffordshire). Enabling students to gain real life experience working within the community, our law clinic offers free legal advice, on a variety of subjects, to the public and to certain specific sectors of the local community. SULAC provides Staffordshire law students the unique opportunity to experience the process of applying law to real life situations in some truly innovative settings.
We have also embedded clinical legal education into our LLB suite of awards. You will learn about professional conduct, standards and ethics as well as various skills such as letter writing, interviewing, negotiation and advocacy in your first year.
